When trying to launch a game, the PC is asking for administrator privileges

This is a feature of Windows since Vista, called *User Account Control*. If turned on (which it is by default, and recommended), even if you are the only user on a PC, you do not automatically have administrator privileges. If you install the game with administrator privileges, you will need to run it that way, too. Try launching the game by right-clicking and selecting "Run as administrator" from the popup menu. If this works, then you can modify the shortcut so that you don't have to right-click each time. To do so, right-click on the shortcut and select "Properties" from the popup menu. In here go to the 'Compatibility' tab and at the bottom of this tab is a section labeled 'Privilege Level'. Check mark the box next to the text that says "Run this program as an administrator". Click 'Apply' and then 'OK'.
